- Admiral Tang was a great man. But, he made one big mistake.He should not use "Arrow Head" Battle formation to fight the Japanese fleet. It was the worst battle formation at sea war. Because you have to face the enemy with the side of your ships so all your guns can fire at the enemy. If you have more than one ship you have to line them up in one line and cut across the enemy fleet at the front so the enemy ships can only fire at you with one gun and you can fire all your guns. In that battle, When the Japanese line went to the right side of the Chinese Arrow Head. The left side of the arrow could not fire or they would hit their own people. So, the Chinese fire power cut down to 1/2. When Japanese line went down to the bottom of the Arrow Head it was worst. That was how Admiral Tang lost his war. In today's sea war you don't see your enemy, have to come up with different tactics. mak
