- well, if your 老公 was able to fix it by himself, then you wouldn't have had to spend that money. but obviously it was beyond him so hiring a professional was an only choice.
it was one time spending; they did a good job and didn't cut corners, and it fixed your big problem. your 老公 paid money for a good service. it was very reasonable business deal as far as i read...
if you want to save money, use more coupons...
don't be too cheap, it would change your personalities and characters...

- snortbsd: well, if your 老公 was able to fix it by himself, then you wouldn't have had to spend that money. but obviously it was beyond him so hiring a professwell, first of all, i'm not cheap. i just felt they might overcharged it since they did not provide us the receipt, so we barely knew what kind of services they had provied, and what parts they have changed. they just gave us a number without explanation and my husband accepted it without questioning.
i wouldn't hesitate to pay if i could see the details on the receipt or they could volunteer the details orally.

some guys would laugh their asses off if your generosity turn out to be stupidity.

- snortbsd: no, receipts? i wouldn't even pay the bill until i see receipts. with receipts, you can deduct that from your taxes...deduct from your taxes? i never heard about that. a lot of people choose to pay cash b/c prices automatically become more "reasonable" than that with receipts.
