汉译趣味美国俚语（6，终）

本篇是字母“A”部分的最后一篇，比通常的“3段”要长一些，因为笔者计划停止写博一段时间，也不知什么时候会继续，所以干脆把“A”结束掉。

学习活脱脱的美国大街上普通人讲的英语。逗乐部分在汉译，我起个头，看看谁能译的最溜，最传神，最严丝合缝 （“信”，“达”便可，严复老的“雅”就不必了）。

Aim for the sky, Reach for the sky, Shoot for the sky

不及物动词。树立崇高目标

Shoot for the sky, son. Don’t settle for second best.

要弄就弄最好的，孩子，第二名啥的没意思。

Set your sights high. Aim for the sky!

要把眼界放高，争取做最好的！

Reach for the sky 也有“把手举起来！”的意思，比如，强盗抢银行时就会这么喊

Okay, you guys, reach for the sky!

喂，都听好了，把手给我举起来！

The bank teller reached for the sky without having to be told.

银行出纳自己把手举起来了。

Asshole

名词（粗话，用起来小心）。

（1）肛门

He threatened to kick me in the asshole, or something like that, if I didn’t leave at once.

他威胁说要把我一屁股蹬出去，或做差不多那样的事，如果我不马上离开的话。

He had to tell the doctor about the pain in his asshole because he simply didn’t know any other word for it.

他只得对医生说，他的屁眼疼，因为他实在不知道还有什么词可以用。

（2）讨厌的家伙

Shut up and get out. You asshole!

闭嘴，滚出去！你这狗娘养的！

Some days it seems like only the assholes got up, and everyone else stayed in bed.

有些天好象只有讨厌的傻冒才起来，别人都在睡觉呢。

At loose ends

形容词。紧张，焦虑，无聊

That silly man usually does the online chat whenever he’s at loose ends.

那傻家伙无聊了就上网聊天。

She’s at loose ends on weekends.

她一到周末就变得百无聊赖。

Attic

名词。脑袋

She’s just got nothing in the attic. That’s what’s wrong with her.

她脑子里空空如也。她的问题就是这个。

He has an attic full of fear and resentment he needs to clean out before he will feel comfortable again.

他一脑袋恐惧和怨气，他必须把这些除掉，不然过不安生。

Attitude-adjuster

名词。警棍

The officer said he would bring order to the gathering with his attitude –adjuster.

那警察说，那个聚会，他会用警棍来维持秩序的。

The police officer had a black attitude-adjustor hanging from his belt, and I wasn’t going to argue with him.

那警察腰上别着个黑警棍，我不打算跟他争。

Aunt Flo

名词。月经

I am sorry to announce that Aunt Flo has come for a visit.

对不起，姐妹们，我来例假了。

It’s Aunt Flo again. She is such a pest.

真讨厌，她又来例假了。
