- nika: 我没生活在美国，我一直以为美国的穷人是生活在天堂中，中国的穷人是生活在地狱里。well, for some 美国的穷人, (at least some families i worked with), they gave up hope for the bettter. with the basic 福利 took care of food and living, they took in whatever from charity/church and didn't have the desire to turn their lives around...

the problems for a lot of 中国的穷人 are they don't have such basic services at all....

- 探底细: 的确不应该指望政府救济。i think, wang paid his taxes and it is quite legitimate for his family to get legitimate help...
but even with those legitimate benefits, their lives would be, at most, adequate. if we talk about 血浓于水, then help them to have a decent, dignified lives.

usually if i got "adequate" for my performance, it would be another way of telling me:"get your resume ready and find another job"...
as my another post said, guys over there should help wang's wife to make a long term budget plan for next five years....
