I believe it really depends on your age or the stage of your life.  The most important thing is if you have a peaceful mind or not.  
I stayed in a even smaller town before, found my peace after 6 month.  Now I prefer to live in that kind of place.

I personally believe a peaceful mind is the most important thing, but that easier to than do.
