- most white professors are generous. if you have solid reasons to change an advisor, they should agree (unless your advisor is an indian).

- yes, i agree. however, a phd student has to go through the process of being exploited by advisor. seems we have no way to avoid that.

- not necessarily. zheng could also outperform if he goes to industry, given his talents. but his success may be another type.

did you mean "考试一次次不过 the qualifying exams"? if so, that is not your advisor's fault. you still need to pass it even if you get a new advisor.
