                          Meditation on faith

The great wall of china was built over two thousand years ago by Shi Huang Di, the First emperor of china, during the Qin Dynasty. Soldiers were stationed along the wall as the first line of defense against the invading Huns from the north of china. The Great Wall of China was a symbol of protection and security for the ancient Chinese.

There was another great wall that gave protection and security to the early Christian. it was their sense of unity, symbolized by their sharing everything in common.

“ they devoted themselves to the apostle .” instruction and the communal life , to the breaking of bread and the prayers. A reverent fear overtook them all, for many wonders and signs were performed by the apostles. Those who believed shared all things in common: they would sell their property and goods, dividing everything on the basis of each one’s need. They went to the temple area together every day, while in their homes they broke bread. With exultant and sincere hearts they took their meals in common, praising God winning the approval of all the people. Day by day the lord added to their number those who were being saved.”
