Prime Minister Stephen Harper today issued the following greeting ahead of Easter weekend:
“Easter is a season of tremendous hope for Christians around the world. For them, it is a triumph of life over death, and the redeeming power of love over evil.
“It is fitting that Easter is in the spring, a season of rebirth that brings optimism to our great land. Just as seeds that lie dormant all winter come to life for the benefit of all, so Christians believe Christ rose from the dead, to the benefit of all who wish to embrace Him.
“Laureen and I join in wishing Canadians a Happy Easter. This weekend, may we all, whatever faith we follow, experience the spirit of peace and love that Easter stands for.”
今天各教会都庆祝复活节，我们教会有十八位弟兄姊妹受洗。耶稣的复活意味着他战胜了死亡，这是一个大喜的日子。主耶稣基督是第一个从死里复活，并永远活着的人，从古至今至将来，所有信他的人若死了，在他再来的时候，都要象他一样复活，获得永远的生命。与圣诞一样，复活节是基督教另一个重大的节日。正如Stephen Harper说的那样，是救赎的大能的彰显，是神的爱战胜撒旦的邪恶的胜利。
有些家长带孩子参加复活节庆祝活动，其实小孩子手上拿着的蓝子，是指古时埃及法老命令杀掉犹太人的头生子，当时摩西的母亲把他放在一个蓝子里面，使摩西幸免不死；而复活蛋，小鸡从蛋里破壳而出，亦象征主从死里复活。
愿复活节带给大家希望，爱与和平。
