Brian Thomas Littrell

    Brian Littrell was born on February 20, 1975(at 1:37am) in Lexington, Kentucky. His parents are Jackie and Harold Littrell. He has an older brother named Harold Littrell Jr.

    Since birth, Brian had a hole in his heart. Yet the hole didn’t affect anything…yet. When he was five years old, Brian fell from his tricycle and scraped his knee, which later got infected and caused the hole to expand. It wasn’t until one day after falling and getting a bump on his head then going to the hospital did the doctors discover the infection. The doctors told his parents to prepare his funeral because Brian had almost no chance of surviving it, but after two months in the hospital, he miraculously recovered.

    When he went to high school, he began singing in the local church with his cousin, former backstreet boy Kevin Richardson. Soon after going to Orlando to find a job in the entertainment business, he auditioned and became one of the Backstreet Boys. Kevin recommended Brian and after arriving and auditioning, Brian became the fifth Backstreet Boy.

  At the video shoot for their single, “As Long As You Love Me” Brian met the actress Leighanne Wallace. They were later married on September 2, 2000. Their son, Baylee Thomas Wylee Littrell was born on November 26, 2002.     

  In 1998, the disease that almost killed him when he was five was back. The hole grew and is making his heart become really big. After delaying the surgery two times due to tours, the doctors told him that if he delays it any longer, it could kill him.

   Brian had his open heart surgery in May and after eight weeks, he was back with the boys touring, though on the first week he needed oxygen tanks backstage.

   The Backstreet Boys took a break between 2002 and 2004 and during this time, Brian worked on his solo, Christian and pop album “Welcome Home” which was released on May 2^, 2006. Its highest position on Billboard 200 was #74 and #2 on the US Christian charts.
