All of the rums in the Cruzan portfolio are aged for a minimum of two years, with some being aged for as long as ten. The Cruzan distillery in St. Croix is recognized for its hand-crafted, ultra-premium rums, and for its pioneering efforts in introducing critically acclaimed, naturally flavoured rums.

The Cruzan Rum distillery was founded on St. Croix in the 1720s. St. Croix , the largest of the U.S. Virgin Islands, was once the richest sugar cane island in the West Indies. The people of St. Croix are called “Cruzans,” a name derived from the Spanish version of the island’s name, Santa Cruz , and the Virgin Islands ’ best-known product … Cruzan Rum.

Cruzan Rum has been produced by five generations of the Nelthropp family, who have distilled Cruzan Rum since the 1930s. Cruzan was purchased by Schenley Industries in 1963, but the Nelthropp family continues to oversee the Estate today. Cruzan Rum has since become one of the fastest growing spirits brands in the U.S. The Cruzan Rum Company is the only manufacturer of rum in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
