I was on lunch break, taking elevator down from 28th floor ... When I got to Broadway, I was puzzled and concerned seeing people flooding out of building forest...
When realizing what had happened, I figured out that I could be one of the most desperate and divested one, should the earthquake cause any type of elevator problem...
Next, since residents of all buildings were evacuated to Broadway, the crowd started to wander, with no cell phone connection, on narrow Broadway between skyscrapers, waiting to eyewitness building collapse from aftershock, before surfing in tsunami ... Hey, Manhattan is an island, after all!
Once again, my memory turned to an unforgettable page on that missarable dawn, July 28, 1976 - the Tangshan Earthquake!
