When I started to read this story, I thought "Goodness!! This is another Culture revolution negative effect. Nevertheless, your writing made me want to continue to read. Indeed, I have read the whole story which is beautiful, fresh, and pure like the morning dew. Poor soul!! I remembered that my friends who had History major back in Tai Da University, all went to the community college to learn COBOL language and found jobs in some business industry. At the time, they did make more money than I did, since I had Biology background and worked in the Lab. Nevertheless, I did manage learning COBOL one semester in community college for the practical reason. Later on, I got accepted by the County Medical Center for one year training as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist and got a license afterwards, which guaranteed me a decent job in the reference lab..... God really answered my prayer and helped me all the way..... I am pretty sure you are in good hand since you believe in God also...... Best wishes!! Anna （《百尝美国梦》 10 ）

My journey to God is very simple/direct. My dad died when he was only 40 years old and left 6 kids to my poor mom with me being the oldest one - only 11 years old. My late dad tried very hard to ask all kinds of help to survive; he did not want to leave us. He found God with us in tow in the end. My mom and us got baptized with my late dad right before he passed away... I always believe that God has a plan for everyone; there is always a purpose for our lives guided by God. I love your writing; through the depiction of your journey, I can see a little bit of me having been there and done that.... My dad died of colon cancer when there was very little information of that horrible disease; I wanted to be a M.D. initially, but did not make it. At last, I became a Clinical Laboratory Scientist and have been working in the reference laboratory all my life - being sort of on track with my late dad's wish. Both my late dad and mom were from Hunan; My siblings and I all grew up in Taiwan. God has been with us every step of our lives. I am so thankful for everything I have. You have been coming a long way; just like the rest of us came to States as poor students. I worked as baby-sitters in the beginning and my husband worked in the restaurant as waiters when we were studying in the graduate school.
