                  Going to the Cloud
 
自从公司翻身以来， 一系列的项目接踵而来。由于过去五年的经济状况， 公司几乎没有向
IT投任何钱财。就像前CIO所说，我们IT是一条大船，只要能在水面上浮着， 就是成功的。 于是， 我们拚着死力在水面上浮了五年。
 
如今， 有钱了， 上项目了。一下子全来了。于是我们就叫这些项目：Going to the Cloud。在过道里，也常常听到公司员工们互相问，‘Are you on the cloud'? 真让我忍俊不禁。
 
最先是Outlook Migration. 开始本是要用Google Mail的. 可Google在大陆失利， 公司为了本身的利益，全面转向微软。和Google合作了半天，以不了而了终结。(https://www.backchina.com/home.php?mod=space&uid=255958&do=blog&id=61333)
 
接下来是 Office Communicator. 又一个微软产品。
 
要知道，微软几年前就改变了其政策。上它的产品就意味为它测试。边改边上。
 
两个项目下来，不知挨了多少公司员工的埋怨。顶着头，忍下来了。
 
紧接着， 又是几个微软项目， Sharepoint 2010, Office 2010, IE8...
这一下又不知要花费多少精力。虽然微软成了咱的Level 3 Support, 可咱还得在第一线顶着。
 
同时， 又有一个什么Virtual Desktop.气得咱跑到Chief Architect的办公室里大发牢骚。牢骚归牢骚。 活还是得干呀。
 
也不知道， 咱上了云彩上面， 是不是就可以呼风唤雨了？？？！！！

get rid of m$, try vmware, i heard it is better...

well, i don't use any of them...
we have vmware on the hosting side which we have done earlier this year.  The sequence is Hosting, Network, and then EUC which is the last piece and impacts to the users directly.

like a typical "MS product", you know: good at RAD, excites your end users and encourage them to raise more requirements; and then when you work on those "advanced requirements", you prefer never having used this fancy product...

haha, get used to it... When we migrated to Outlook 2007, my users asked me if they could switch back to Outlook 2003...

Change is not always better... People like to curve in the comfort zone...

Change is not always better. ...
yeah, you are right. I just don't like the way MS pushes us.
Anyway, I do need to learn more on SharePoint2010 and have to use it.
