然而，今天在现实中，在中国境内的乐天玛特、乐天百货又是怎样的呢？
韩国乐天集团因提供"萨德"用地，旗下连锁超市"乐天玛特（Lotte Mart）百货"屡遭中国行政手段骚扰，导致大部分分店停业，生意一落千丈，14日传出已决定抛售中国"乐天玛特"112家百货商场门市（包括3家乐天超市），并有意在年底前完成出售，但相关程序并不顺利，路透社消息。
此后《韩联社》报导说，韩国乐天的抛售并不顺利，因为收购方大幅压低收购价格，尽管如此，中国乐天还是准备在年底前完成出售，乐天和证券界推估，中国"乐天玛特"的帐面加值应达8300亿韩元（约7.36亿$、或48.2亿RMB）。
据中国乐天公司和银行界昨天9月17日的消息，乐天最近已和北京华联集团讨论买卖相关事宜，乐天集团希望以此价格转卖于对方，但北京华联担心有政治风险，对收购案面露难色。中国方面的企业已放弃收购。
乐天之后又和有购买意向的泰国第二大流通企业正大集团谈判，但收购报价比帐面价值低了30%以上，双方期望价格相差甚远，令乐天集团感到为难，双方协商陷入困境，至今没有进展。
投资银行界相关人士指出，急着抛售的乐天在中国现已回天无力，在谈判中处于明显的不利地位，收购方也清楚乐天现在的处境，大幅压低价格；中国"乐天玛特"受反萨德手段影响，今年上半年销售额为去年的1／5，很难以满意的价格出售。
中国乐天的上层则表示：乐天集团近日向中国乐天玛特追加注资3400亿韩元(约合3亿$、或19.75亿RMB)，预计可以支撑至年底，以期按计划在年底前抛售完所有的中国店铺，撤离中国。
据悉，中国乐天玛特在中国共有112家店铺，其中87家店铺处于停止营业状态，如果撑到今年年底，预计乐天玛特将损失1兆韩元(约合8.87亿$、或58.1亿RMB)。
《韩联社》报导还指，"乐天玛特"在撤离中国市场后，计画积极进军东南亚市场，目前在印尼已有45个分店、越南13个，去年，两国的销售额已超越中国，达1兆4000亿韩元（约81亿人民币）。
