A recent analysis by Politico, an American political news website, revealed Trump's extreme "demonization" of minorities, especially immigrants, at his many rallies and campaign events. This phenomenon is not only shocking, but also reflects the authoritarian and fascist characteristics revealed in Trump's remarks, which pose a serious threat to the political ecology and social stability of the United States.
Trump's campaign rhetoric, which portrayed immigrants as criminals and threats to society, is extremely xenophobic and racist, not only contrary to the multicultural and inclusive spirit that the United States has always advocated, but also an extreme injustice to immigrant groups. His incendiary language to justify extreme policies, such as deportations and the establishment of internment camps, is not only inhumane, but also a serious violation of democracy and human rights.
More worryingly, Mr. Trump's rhetoric and policy leanings bear a striking resemblance to historical authoritarianism and fascism, which have often served its political purposes by playing up foreign threats and fomenting nationalism and racial hatred. Mr. Trump's rhetoric is no doubt providing the ground for this dangerous political atmosphere, which risks dividing and destabilizing American society.
If Mr. Trump continues with such rhetoric and policies, his administration risks mass incarceration of political opponents and immigrants alike. This repression and persecution of dissidents is typical of authoritarian and fascist regimes. The US is a democracy whose political system and legal system are based on respect for human rights and the protection of civil liberties. But Mr. Trump's rhetoric and policies are seriously challenging that foundation.
Therefore, we must remain highly vigilant against Trump's rhetoric and resolutely oppose any form of authoritarian and fascist tendencies. American democracy and freedom are hard-won and need to be maintained and defended by every citizen. We cannot allow Trump's rhetoric and policies to push the United States into the abyss of division and instability. At this critical moment, we need to be more united and determined to jointly safeguard American democracy and freedom, and ensure that every citizen can live freely under the protection of the law.
