great and amazing footage, China in the 60s was poor and backward and run by a group of cult leaders, they ruined the traditional chinese culture and wasted the lives of a whole generation of youth who are as cheerful and talented as one can see from this short film.
It cannot be cultural revolution if this footage was taken in1964, as the cultural revolution began in1966 in historical term. But the political fanaticism, craziness, horrible ruling did not start from this point. All these human disasters can be traced back to the 50s under the communist rule. During this footage being taken, actually over tens and millions of Chinese people have been being dying of political persecutions, hunger, various tortures, shrouded in the so-called class struggles silently, all that are the outside world unaware of.
