 Valentine’s Day and Rose

I got up earlier this morning because I would receive the Ping Pong Table at school from Elijah, who would be there very early. However, when I was on my way, he texted me, “I already put it nearby the gate surrounding the Cafeteria. Unbelievable! He even got there earlier than normal schedule, which was 7:15. He probably got other things to do, so he finished this thing quickly.

In Period 1, every student from varieties of Math classes shall go to the gym to receive the worksheet to do because the Math teachers had something special to do I didn’t know what that was. It was good to be in the gym, but I didn’t like the seat of the bench.

In English, I received the score of the Essay that I submitted last Friday, I got 0 out of 100! Not just me, a lot of people did! The reason was we didn’t write the Work Cited Page correctly, or the background of the resources that we researched. I should’ve engraved it in my mind, otherwise none of these would’ve happened. Fortunately, Mrs. Hooper gave us time to compensate for it before Friday. After that, she presented a new book that we should read. We’d be asked questions about it every week! So, we must make sure we are reading, otherwise we’d lose points on the test. I had been wondering what kind of book I should read, and now I got something to read. Is it really necessary for others to choose something for me to read?

At noon, the event of The Valentine’s Day had begun. The Dance Team was doing fundraising that they were selling flowers and toys for everybody who wanted to buy something for his or her special someone.

So, I bought a rose for Jasmine, but I couldn’t see her anywhere! I really searched every place, but nothing found. I asked Mrs. Simpson for advice, she suggested me to inquire it in the office. So, I did as her said, and the result was “fascinating”: She’s absent today! I should've known better not to make decisions before making sure it’s the right thing to do! I couldn’t see her anywhere, so what’s the point of buying the rose?

Well, I came up with an idea: Give it to the second-favorite girl on my list. So, I found the girl, named Adriana, and I presented her the rose. She appreciated it and hugged me, so we sat down and talked about stuffs. I learned that she got 2 best friends, both girls; 2 buddies, and one of them was her brother, Eddie. I knew him, so the situation was smooth. I asked her friends to take picture of us standing together, and it was wonderful!

America is really a fantastic place: In Valentine’s Day, boys and girls can give each other gifts without having to make a commitment of getting into a relationship, they can just do that as friends, which was the thing I did today. I didn’t expect to be in a serious relationship with Adriana anyway, so I wasn’t nervous at all.

After school, I played Ping Pong with Mr. Distaso in his classroom. We practiced for like half an hour, it was really fun. We’d have time to do that tomorrow at noon, too. After that, I realized that I could arrange someone to be the coach and train others. I would make it once in a week, so it wouldn't be boring to others. My Ping Pong Club should be training at some point, instead of playing around everyday.

In Tennis, I had a little match with Marlin, a skillful tennis player, who was also my friend, but not that close. We fought toe-to-toe in the beginning, but I had the feeling that he might get upset for losing the match. You know, last week, Coach Al condemned us for getting upset of losing. It’s just a game, not a war. While I was thinking, I wasn’t letting my guard down. However, I just couldn’t seem to defeat him. And eventually, I lost. I didn’t know if it’s psychological effect, or I wasn’t skillful enough since I hadn’t practiced for a few days. Seriously, I should never let any thought to bother my mind, otherwise I would really lose.

After that, Nick and Devon were playing against one skillful adult player. I saw them missing the ball in the middle very much, so I joined them and put myself between them. I noticed they were surprised to see me there, so I doubted if it was appropriate. With this thought in my mind, I couldn’t hit the ball nicely. Once again, I wondered if it’s me not being skillful, or the thought troubled me. I got out of there after a while.

I didn’t manage my time really well tonight that I watched the movie and played the dodgeball game before finishing my homework. I just preferred to do the entertaining things, instead of getting my work done on time. It really corned me because I wasted my time, I really hate this feeling, why can’t I just snap out of it and be a new man?
