- Great, China is building many wonderful ships in high speed. China needs a good size navy badly. But, China is only having little amount of over sea bases. Large navy needs many oversea bases. At least on at each continent . Why ? because if Chinese ships fighting at Pacific ocean open water without bases at the other side of the ocean such as somewhere at North, Central, or South America, China would be at lower hand if the home sea way got cut off. If one study 2 WW sea wars history can see some good examples. Otherwise, Chinese ships cannot leave home more than 3 days away and the function of sea power is limited. That's why I am saying "a navy without over sea bases is only 1/2 a navy. mak
