Taiwan is so important to China. If it declared independence China must take it by force regardless of anything happening on Earth. The 1996 missile incident was a good example.  mak

Taiwan's election doesn't affect the World much. most people don't even where is Taiwan. 2) the U.S. never fought for Taiwan.3)War or not is up to the behaver of the U.S. and Taiwan.   mak
