- rack & pinion hose? There are many possibilities causing the leakage. Hose just one of them. Sounds like you got fixed by a mechanic and you got a very cheap one.

- he asked me to buy the parts from autozone and he put in them (so he charged me his time）。 it was hose on the high pressure side. That is all I remember.
