- searched medline for you, no evidence support the hypothesis that fluorine suppresses the function of thyroid gland by interfering with iodine uptake. In animal studies, only when the amount of fluorine exceeded greatly the amount recommended for dental caries prevention, was the iodine uptake slightly and transiently inhibited.
63 is right because papers concluded that only causal observation has claimed such link while quite some good studies refuted such suggestion. So I don't think you should put time on it.
