i wasn't born here and proud of my chinese origin. the best part of me i am not some losers that could not even tell the difference between "green card" and passport.
tell your mom, get herself educated, at least be a honest citizen of this great country!!!

这完全是中国政府的问题，严格讲是中共的问题。女士遭遇值得同情。
海外华人是中共第一个愿意牺牲的对象，我们夫妻都是华人，只持美国绿卡，子女中国领事馆都不给中国旅行证或护照，逼着他们拿美国护照。这是人的政策吗？一家人大人是中国人，孩子是外国人。作为老右派的孩子，从小就在邻居孩子，打骂，羞辱，欺负中长大，绝不还手给自己父母添麻烦。直到初中前，我自己的名字是多余的，记忆中小孩只会对我喊我爸爸的名字，一个挂着牌子游街的右派。我出国十多年，出于反哺效应，从未说过国内一句坏话，从未少捐赈灾善款。只有这一点，我是彻头彻尾的难过，我的祖国抛弃我！他们的政策又在欺负我的下一代，我无奈！ ”

- 对楼主就简单说一下。据我了解中国驻外机构对海外华人的身份认证和相关手续是很繁复的工作，那个网友说“我们夫妻都是华人，只持美国绿卡，子女中国领事馆都不给中国旅行证或护照 ”并以此来指责中国政府和政党。这种情形的一个关键点是孩子在哪里出生？他们的孩子如果出生在美国，依照美国法律这个孩子已经取得美国国籍，如果需要护照的话一定是美国护照。此时以父母是中国公民为理由要求政府给一个美国公民发放中国护照显然是与中国不承认双重国籍的政策相违背，所以不发给他们孩子中国护照是对的。如果是这样的情形，他们夫妇给孩子办理美国护照应当是轻而易举的事情，我也不理解为什么他们要这样做，被拒绝后就指责中国政府政党。可能和以前他们受到右派斗争的影响有关。

中国护照的地位现在已经有了很大的改观了。但是人类社会的任何事情变迁都不是一下子改变的，以美国为首的西方国家从政治理念上对共产主义恐惧，把中国始终列为敌对国家，所以对中国护照持有者实行敌对态度在他们的国家思想上是正确的。

- 这个理由是对的。持有美国绿卡，但仍然是中国公民，进入需要签证的国家是要先行签证的。大概楼主是这里出了纰漏。

- i think she didn't have visa. her hubby doesn't need visa for jamaica, with american passport.

well, honestly she wasn't the first one making such mistake. i almost did. fortunately i found that out before i actually booked my ticket...
