美国阿拉斯加州首府朱诺(Juneau)上游一个冰湖8月13日决堤引发洪灾,当地政府呼吁居民撤离,洪水浸没部份街道与房屋,暂未接获重大伤亡或损伤报案。洪水在当日稍晚退去,部份居民可返回,不过仍有地区被关闭,解封时间另行通知。
包括ABC在内美媒报道,朱诺附近的河流水位因冰湖决堤而上涨进而氾滥,在周三上午7时就上涨到最高峰约5.9米的警戒水位。

美国气象局指出,这水位超越去年纪录,并有发布洪水预警,还强调这个位于冰川附近的冰湖每年都会决堤,当地官员则表示,由于冰湖向下游排放雨水以及融化的雪水,朱诺因此面临洪灾风险。
有关部门指出,儘管发生严重洪水,但今年早前建造的防洪堤坝保护市民免受洪灾侵犯,市行政长官Katie Koester表示,防洪工程有效,倘无堤坝保护,洪水将浸没成百上千的房屋。
美国地质调查局(USGS)也发布闭路电视录像,其中可见冰湖水面上的冰块,因水位上涨而逐渐抬高,直至决堤。
