雨季洪流击凉亭，月台鱼虾跳跃声。
街头铁驴水上漂，巷尾轿车如游艇。
远看汪洋一千里，高楼旗帜迎风轻。
为何年年闹涝灾？得问消防市政厅。
In rainy season flood water pounds on kiosks ,
On the platform fish and shrimps jump as if in woks.
A motorcycle on one side of the street floats,
While on the other side sedans going like boats.
In distance you can see the city looks like a sea,
On the top of buildings flags flap in light breeze.
Why does it flood every year when rain falls ?
You have to ask the fire department in City Hall.

春江潮水连路平，路上拥堵共潮生。
慢慢随车千万米，龙城何处不难行。
孤山遥立看似印，大桥飞架气如虹。
待到雨停红日出，婀娜河柳笑客迎。
spring tide of the river flooded the roads
causing traffic jam adding to the woes
all the way along the slow moving chain
everywhere on driving it put a strain
like a Chinese seal stone a hill stands alone
like a flying rainbow the bridge presents a view
wait till the rain refrains and the red sun rises
graceful willows will greet grateful guests
旧译：
Roads are submerged as river swells in spring
Hence there is traffic jam
Slowly moves along the traffic stream
All over the town it's the same
A lone hill stands distant like a Chinese seal
The bridge looks like a rainbow
Wait after the rain the sun shines still
You see the smiling river willow
