- 很关键是其第一句：“that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen” 翻译成中文是：“完全放弃我对以前所属任何外国亲王、君主、国家或主权之公民资格及忠诚”。 所有的美籍华人客观上都已经放弃了中国公民资格，那问题的关键就在于“忠诚”，也就是原文中的“allegiance and fidelity”。

从wikipedia 查来的解释：An allegiance is a duty of fidelity said to be owed by a subject or a citizen to his/her state or sovereign. Fidelity is the quality of being faithful or loyal. Its original meaning regarded duty to a lord or a king, in a broader sense than the related concept of fealty. Both derive from the Latin word fidēlis (A III adjective), meaning "faithful or loyal". 从这解释里大家也看到，忠诚是抽象的慨念，最后都具体地落在 “duty”，或者说 “对原来国家的义务” 上面了。
是否可以说，誓词要求只是放弃生长地国家的公民资格和义务，并不强求入籍人扼杀自己对祖国的感情和爱。
爱国是一个非常广泛的慨念，爱家乡、爱中国文化、爱中国人民、参与中国困难地区的扶贫、中国需要我们的时候为她效力（比如中国有灾难时为她出钱出力）...这些都属于爱国的范围内，这些爱国的行为里并没有要求爱国的美籍华人一定要履行对中国公民的义务(比如参军保卫祖国、依法服兵役和参加民兵组织等。 )
从上面的分析，我们是否可以这样说：美籍华人可以不履行对中国的公民义务去爱国？我相信是可以的。
当然，在中国和美国成为敌人的时候，“对抗国內和国外所有的敌人”这一句将会成为美籍华人心中的痛！但万幸的是，美国和中国不是（至少现在不是）敌对国！ 至少在目前的状况下，我们可以爱美国也爱中国！

once you are american citizen, if any of above involve matters/agenda against the usa would be illegal, as my understanding. btw, you have no obligations and duties to any foreign countries (including china) except those of the usa.履行对中国公民的义务,比如参军保卫祖国、依法服兵役和参加民兵组织;依法纳税
well, read again! "that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic". this has nothing to do with anything but "support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America"....当然，在中国和美国成为敌人的时候，“对抗国內和国外所有的敌人”这一句将会成为美籍华人心中的痛！
defending the usa from any foreign invasions, support and defend the constitution and laws of usa, that's all!
not fighting for american interests, not fighting for american ideologies on foreign soils...
