- 没有去过channel islands。十多年前去过Martha’s Vineyard。Martha’s Vineyard比Catalina Island大些。Catalina Island只有3600固定居民，而Martha’s Vineyard则有14000固定居民。Catalina Island很多商店是典型的西岸商店，象民俗，土产等等，没有高档商品店。总的讲Catalina Island就是村里。而Martha’s Vineyard是富有郊区。

- 没看见。去时基本谁过去啦。回来看书来着。
Giada: 上次我们去，在途中看到海豚，跳来跳去的很好看，可惜太快，来不及照相。

- 天堂鸟有两种。这中叫Giant Bird of Paradise。花树长成后有几层楼高。
qionghua: 饭看着都不错，但是那天堂鸟怎么变成那样了？也太粗放了。

- 出海看鱼了吗？座在船上，船底有镜子，把买好的鱼食顺着管子倒进去，上百条鱼来抢，很是壮观。
还有租golf cart，环岛一周，站在山顶，俯瞰大海，美极了。我很喜欢Catalina Island。

- Not too many national chains there. I booked mine through hotels.com. You can also stay in Long Beach, for example, and take a day trip. Cheaper that way, but you miss the evening stroll.
smartman: what kind of hotels are available there? hilton, marriott, or others?
