research success comes sometimes suddenly. hardly know which date you may have a breakthrough.

- 并不突然。他在实验室努力是虚写，不想花几千字一一例举，那样会烦死读者。但你看丽莎说他经常干通宵，还有玩游戏不超过五分钟，以及做饭时都思考问题等等，就知道并不容易。

i used to spend over 3 months to think over one open problem and felt an impasse to move forward. one morning when i woke up, i found i had a solution. it became my major thesis topic. (it was not a major breakthrough but enough for me to earn my degree). later on, i believed that my 3 months' hardwork laid my foundation and i wouldn't make meaningful progress that morning, without the previous 3-month's efforts.
however, there was no way i could predict: 1. by which date i could make it; 2. nor could i even be sure that whether i could eventually solve it or not. 努力到了，成功会突然降临 out of your prediction!
