道德经 第六十六章 海
江海之所以能为百谷王者，以其善下之，故能为百谷王。
是以欲上民，必以言下之；欲先民，必以身后之。
是以圣人处上而民不重，处前而民不害。
是以天下乐推而不厌。以其不争，故天下莫能与之争。
江和海能汇集很多山谷溪流成大，是因为他们处在下方，所以能汇集很多山谷溪流成大。
所以要处于别人的上级位置，在言语方面必须表达谦逊如下级。要领导人民，必须把自身的利益放在人民的后面。
所以聪明人位居人民之上，但人民不感觉到压迫；位居人民的前面，但人民没有嫉恨。所以天下人乐意推举这样的人而不厌恶。因为聪明人不争，所以天下人没能与他竞争。
